Kabnar sa Marawi: Reclaiming Justice, Rebuilding Lives

Dear Friends, Partners, and Fellow Youth Advocates,

Warm greetings from Kinaiyahan – Youth for Climate Justice in Mindanao!

Eight years have passed since the Marawi Siege, yet thousands of Meranaw remain displaced—still waiting for justice, recognition, and the right to return home with dignity. As the country prepares for the President’s upcoming State of the Nation Address (SONA), we believe it is urgent and necessary to bring the voices of Marawi’s people back into national consciousness.

We invite you to join us for:

This event is co-organized by Mindanao Climate JusticeKinaiyahan Youth Network, and the newly formed PANAAD Network (Pilgrims for the Earth and People)—a Mindanao-wide alliance for ecological justice and human rights. It is led by youth interns from Mindanao State University – Marawi Campus, who are working to tell the stories of their communities still living in displacement.

 Program Highlights:

  • Testimonies from Meranaw youth and displaced families

  • A short documentary on life in post-siege Marawi

  • Reflections from national and global solidarity partners

We welcome the participation of youth leaders, students, educators, civil society groups, climate and human rights advocates, faith-based organizations, and all concerned citizens.

Let us come together in remembrance and resolve—to listen, reflect, and act. Because the struggle for justice, dignity, and return must not be forgotten.

In solidarity,
Nurainie Rakim
Co-Chairperson
